Brazilian Starfish
Brazilian Starfish
This striking, star-shaped fruit hails from the baccatum pepper species, originally found in Peru but cultivated in Brazil. The Brazilian starfish pepper is celebrated for its intricate blend of floral and fruity flavors, complemented by a medium level of heat. Each bite is full of surprises, as the spice can range from mild to surprisingly hot, occasionally surpassing that of jalapeños. The fruit is always juicy and sweet, growing up to 2 inches wide and turning a vivid red as it ripens. The plants themselves are vigorous and exhibit a unique, cascading, vine-like growth habit. While they may take time to produce, they reward patience with a bountiful harvest by the end of the season.
